Stormtide Leviathan rulings

  • Stormtide Leviathan's second ability causes each land on the battlefield to have the land type Island. Each land thus has the ability "tap this permanent: Add one blue mana." Nothing else changes about those lands, including their names, other subtypes, other abilities, and whether they're legendary or basic.

  • If Stormtide Leviathan loses its abilities, all lands on the battlefield (including those that enter the battlefield later on) will still be Islands in addition to their other types and will still be able to tap to produce one blue mana. The way continuous effects work, Stormtide Leviathan's type-changing ability is applied before the effect that removes that ability is applied.

  • Stormtide Leviathan's third ability affects all creatures with neither flying nor islandwalk, regardless of who controls them. They can't attack any player or planeswalker.

  • Islandwalk cares about lands with the land type Island, not necessarily lands named Island.

Stormtide Leviathan keyword rules

Landwalk Rule 702.14

Landwalk is a generic term that appears within an object’s rules text as “[type]walk,” where [type] is usually a land type, but it can also be the card type land plus any combination of land types, card types, and/or supertypes.

Landwalk is an evasion ability.

A creature with landwalk can’t be blocked as long as the defending player controls at least one land with the specified land type (as in “islandwalk”), with the specified type or supertype (as in “artifact landwalk”), without the specified type or supertype (as in “nonbasic landwalk”), or with both the specified type or supertype and the specified subtype (as in “snow swampwalk”). (See rule , “Declare Blockers Step.”)

Landwalk abilities don’t “cancel” one another.

Multiple instances of the same kind of landwalk on the same creature are redundant.
