What's new

Version 1.17.7

New features

• Search results now show each card's canonical printing, matching what you see on the card's page.

Version 1.17.6

New features

• Package lists: save reusable bundles of cards (such as mana rocks or a green ramp suite) and drop them into any of your other lists. Packages are never counted as owned and don't show deck stats, so they stay out of the way of your collection totals.
• "Add package" button on any list lets you choose which cards from a package to add. Everything is selected by default, and cards outside your commander's colour identity or already in the list are left out automatically.
• Package additions work in upgrade mode too, where the added cards are staged for you to review.

Version 1.17.5

Improvements

• Pages no longer re-render from scratch when they finish loading, so card pages open faster and images below the fold load when you scroll to them instead of all at once.
• Mana symbols now load from a much smaller bundled font, so they appear sooner and the app uses less data.
• You can now pinch-to-zoom on mobile. Text fields stay at a readable size so the browser won't zoom in unexpectedly when you tap them.
• The homepage's decorative card images load after the main content, so the page becomes usable sooner.

Version 1.17.4

New features

• Open a pod member's record from the standings: click a player's name to see their record in that server, the same view as your own, minus the deck-list links. Only servers you've played in are available.

Improvements

• Deckbuilder works better on phones: once a build starts, the inputs fold into a summary bar, and Export, Save and Playtest stay pinned at the bottom of the screen.
• Saving a deck now stays on the same page, so you can keep editing.
• Rebuilding a deck asks for confirmation before discarding your hand edits.
• Opening the Deckbuilder with a commander in the link builds the deck straight away.
• Commander Finder keeps your search in the link, so you can bookmark or share it. On phones the filters collapse into one summary line with a sticky Find button.
• First visits to Commander Finder start with suggested presets.
• Searching shows a loading skeleton with progress, and a failed search offers a Try again button.
• Pages now respond to links opened while the app is already running, not only on first load.
• Card action buttons sit under the card art at a size that's easier to tap.
• The tools page shows the path from Commander Finder to Deckbuilder to Spellbook, and links back to your last Finder search.

Fixes

• Opening a shared link to a page you had already visited no longer ignores the search or deck it contained.

Version 1.17.3

Internal maintenance and improvements.

Version 1.17.2

New features

• Shared list pages now show a link back to the author's profile.

Improvements

• Card pages load noticeably faster. The extra data sent with each page is cut by more than half (Sol Ring went from about 97 kB to 40 kB, Delver of Secrets from 135 kB to 51 kB).
• Opening a card from search or the deck card finder now shows the exact printing you clicked, not the newest printing of that card.
• The collection loads in your browser after the page appears, so the page opens sooner and no longer waits on your full collection.
• Shared links now preview the page they point to, instead of all showing the homepage.

Fixes

• The author name on shared lists links to their profile again.
• Switching between lists now properly refreshes the list view.
• The sets page and individual set pages load again after a Scryfall change that had broken them.
• Adding cards to a list that hit a database error no longer fails silently, making the problem easier to track down.

Version 1.17.1

New features

• Added a shared stats strip to the hub and share pages, giving you a quick visual summary of spellbook stats.
• The hub and share pages now have a refreshed, more polished look and feel.

Improvements

• Deck and article cards, color filters, and like buttons on the hub now feature a cleaner design with larger, easier-to-tap buttons and better support for screen readers.
• Decks now show their actual color combination or "Commander" instead of a generic "No commander" label, and color pips are hidden when colors aren't known yet.
• If you try to like something while signed out, you'll be taken to the login page and brought right back afterward.

Fixes

• Fixed inconsistencies in how deck colors were calculated and displayed.

Version 1.17.0

New features

• Cards now have their own dedicated page with a shareable link, showing full details and all available printings.

Improvements

• Refreshed the overall look and feel with a cleaner, more consistent visual design throughout the app.
• Faster loading for card pages thanks to improved caching.
• Improved sorting and bulk-selection tools across collection, search, and spellbook views.
• Smoother sign-in experience that returns you to where you were.

Version 1.16.2

New features

• Added draggable counters to the playtest battlefield — left-click to add one, right-click to remove one, or drag to move. Press C to quickly add a counter. Choose from counter types like poison, energy, or +1/+1, each shown with its own symbol and color.
• Hover over a card during play to see an enlarged preview beside the board, making it easy to read card details without leaving the game. The preview appears after a short pause and switches instantly as you move between cards.

Improvements

• Card previews now hide automatically while dragging, scrolling, or when a dialog opens, keeping the board clean during play.

Version 1.16.1

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the analytics consent setting could be unintentionally reset.

Version 1.16.0

New features

• You can now set a deck's commander directly from a card's menu. If you build a deck up to 100 cards without one, we'll prompt you to pick one.
• Discover your next commander by browsing suggestions filtered by color, theme, and popularity, powered by EDHREC data.
• A new Tools page lets you auto-build a full Commander deck instantly using EDHREC data.
• Card suggestions now include picks from EDHREC alongside PlaneswalkerHub's own recommendations.

Version 1.15.0

New features

• You can now playtest any deck (theorycraft or owned) right from its spellbook page! Draw a hand, shuffle your library, and play out a game on a free-form battlefield with graveyard, exile, and a command zone for commander decks.
• Cards can be tapped, transformed, given counters, and moved between zones using menus or simple drag & drop.
• Search or peek at your library, shuffle at any time, create tokens, and use the London mulligan when starting a game.
• Undo your last move and use keyboard shortcuts to speed through gameplay.

Version 1.14.1

New features

• Lists can now be shared as Private, Unlisted, or Public. Private stays visible to you only, Unlisted gives anyone with the link access without appearing in public listings, and Public opens the link and lists it on the Hub, your profile, and search sites.

Version 1.14.0

New features

• Card pages now display artwork from up to 20 of the card's most recent printings.
• Search results can be sorted by name, matching the language you're viewing them in.
• Add a card directly to your sideboard or maybeboard right from its context menu, without extra steps.
• Card pages now show the full rules text behind each of a card's keywords (like Flying or Deathtouch), with links back to the complete rules.
• Search results now show the total number of cards found and let you know when you've scrolled to the end of the list, with smoother, more reliable loading as you scroll.

Fixes

• Search results now show only one printing per card instead of duplicate entries for the same card.

Version 1.13.0

New features

• You can now flip double-faced cards to see their back face right in the card grids, wherever they appear. A small button shows up on cards that have art on both sides.
• Deck building now has a "Find cards" search tool that respects your deck's rules — it filters by your commander's color identity and Commander legality (with a toggle), lets you hide cards you already have, and shows how many copies of each card are already in your list.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where shared links showing card previews would stop working after we released updates, causing broken previews on social media.

Version 1.12.3

New features

• You can now set the exact number of copies of a card in a list instead of clicking "+" repeatedly. Just click the count badge on a card, or use "Set quantity…" from the card's menu, and type the number you want.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where removing one copy of a card from a list (like the maybeboard) could accidentally move the remaining copies into the wrong zone, such as the main deck.

Version 1.12.2

New features

• Search for cards using multiple languages at once, while still viewing results in your preferred display language.

Improvements

• The "Latest Decks" section on the hub now ends with a card linking to the full deck list, making it clear there's more to browse.
• Card search results now correctly avoid duplicate entries when a card matches in several searched languages.

Version 1.12.1

Fixes

• Fixed an error that could cause "Internal Server Error" failures when adding cards to a list.
• Fixed an issue where re-adding a previously removed card to a list could fail to match it correctly across different printings.

Version 1.12.0

New features

• Owned decks now share real cards with your collection instead of tracking separate imaginary copies. When you add a card to an owned deck, you'll be asked whether to sleeve a copy you already own from your collection, and when you remove a card it's returned to a new "Removed from deck" collection list rather than being deleted outright.
• This same "use a copy I already own" prompt now appears when importing a decklist in bulk, when converting a theorycraft deck into an owned deck, and when reviewing an upgrade before committing it.
• When matching cards to your collection, the app prefers the exact printing and finish you have sleeved, then falls back to other printings you own — so your deck ends up showing the actual card sitting on your shelf. Copies already sleeved in another owned deck are never suggested.

Fixes

• Fixed cross-printing lookups (used by this feature, the collection panel in the card drawer, and card tooltips) silently returning nothing due to a missing background process.
• If saving collection changes during an upgrade fails, you'll now see an error message instead of the app silently losing track of the change.

Version 1.11.1

Fixes

• Fixed an issue in Upgrade Mode where changing a staged card's print could fail silently or, worse, apply the print change to your deck immediately instead of waiting until you commit your upgrades. Print swaps in Upgrade Mode now behave correctly for both newly staged cards and cards already in your deck.

Version 1.11.0

New features

• You'll now see a notification popover in the navigation bar whenever someone likes one of your lists. Opening it marks notifications as seen, and re-liking a list you've already liked will bring the notification back to your attention.
• Every player now has a public profile page at /u/[handle], showing who created a deck. Old profile links will still work and redirect automatically.
• You can now like decks on the Hub, and browse decks sorted by popularity in addition to newest, oldest, or name.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where a deck card could show a "liked" heart next to a like count of zero. Like counts and your own like status now stay in sync after a refresh.

Version 1.10.4

Fixes

• Improved behind-the-scenes error tracking, helping us diagnose and fix issues in production faster.

Version 1.10.3

Improvements

• Card search and sitemap-related pages now load faster and more consistently, thanks to a shared, longer-lasting cache behind the scenes.
• Added protection against abuse on the card search and feedback features to help keep them fast and reliable for everyone.

Version 1.10.2

Internal maintenance and improvements.

Version 1.10.1

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the app could fail to start/build properly, and social share preview images (Open Graph images) continue to display correctly with the right fonts.

Improvements

• The sidebar collapse control is now a clearly labelled button in the sidebar footer, making it easier to find and use.

Version 1.10.0

New features

• Deck recommendations are now also offered for decks you already own.
• Sidebar lists can now be dragged and dropped into whatever order you prefer, and that order is remembered.
• Your preferred sidebar list sort order (A–Z or custom) is now remembered between visits.
• List headers without a pinned background card or commander now show a type icon instead of a blank space.
• List chips now automatically show an icon for the list's type and a color based on its commander's color identity, making lists easier to recognize at a glance.

Improvements

• Gave the sidebar user info area more breathing room.

Fixes

• Cards in the maybeboard no longer count toward your collection totals.
• Removed a broken link to card sets on the card details page.

Version 1.9.2

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where certain double-faced Secret Lair cards wouldn't open and appeared merged together as a single search result instead of showing individually.

Version 1.9.1

Fixes

• Fixed the card drawer zoom view to correctly display the full-size card art.

Version 1.9.0

New features

• Creating a dynamic list now offers five ready-made filter presets to click on, each with a short explanation — a handy way to learn the search syntax without starting from a blank field.
• Added is:commander as a search filter, so you can reliably find commander-eligible cards, including tricky cases like legendary Vehicles and Spacecraft.
• The card language picker has moved next to the search bar and quick-add, making it easier to find and use. Quick-add now updates results automatically when you change the language.
• Added a consent banner for analytics. PlaneswalkerHub won't track usage data until you say it's okay, and you can change your mind anytime from Settings › Privacy or the footer.

Improvements

• Signing in with Google has been removed — Discord is now the only sign-in option. Accounts previously linked with Google will still display correctly.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where hovering over a large stack of cards (100+) could cause cards to flicker instead of staying on top.

Version 1.8.7

Version 1.8.6

New features

• The card drawer now has an "Add to list" button, so you can add a card to one of your lists right from the drawer.
• List types are now explained right in the app: the type picker tells you what each type means (whether cards count as owned, whether it can feed a dynamic list, and whether Upgrade mode is available), and the choice you made is shown under the list grid.
• Search syntax is now documented in the app, with a clickable reference guide wired into every search box that supports it, so you no longer have to guess at the syntax.
• Added a refresh button to the collection page, so you can pull in changes made from another page, tab, or device without reloading.

Improvements

• Redesigned the spellbook header for phones: the commander art now spans the full width, the type switcher only shows the current type until you tap it, and Import/Export are tucked into a "More" menu to save space.

Fixes

• Fixed the spellbook list page scrolling sideways on phone screens — sort controls and the draw-probabilities section now wrap properly instead of overflowing.
• Fixed the "Add to list" button on the card page not working at all. Adding a card to a list from this page now works correctly, with the usual confirmation toast.

Version 1.8.5

Version 1.8.4

Fixes

• Fixed collection imports from Moxfield where sideboard, deck, and companion sections weren't recognized correctly — cards after certain section headers were incorrectly imported as mainboard cards.

Version 1.8.3

New features

• Added a set of plain-language rules explainers at /rules covering planeswalkers, the stack, commander damage, the legend rule, and mulligans — each with a quick answer up front and links to the exact rule text.
• /spellbook, /collection, and /game-tracking are now full-featured pages instead of short pitches, with in-depth guides, comparison tables, and FAQs explaining what each tool does and why it's different.
• Every card now has its own dedicated, shareable page at /card/<card-name>, showing full oracle text, legality, rulings, printings, and similar cards — no more dead-end pages that just bounced you to search.
• Rules content is now kept up to date automatically from the official source.

Improvements

• Social media links to PlaneswalkerHub pages now show a proper preview image and title instead of a generic site-wide banner.
• The homepage headline and description now clearly explain what PlaneswalkerHub is and why it's worth using — free, no ads, no account required to browse.
• Clicking a card's art now takes you to that card's full page (ctrl/cmd-click still opens it in a new tab, as expected).

Fixes

• Fixed a bug where visiting a card page could incorrectly show "Card not found" even when the card existed, due to a search error being mistaken for a missing card.
• Fixed card pages and the card sitemap returning no results because of a technical mismatch in how card data was being requested.
• Fixed card data updates silently breaking due to a change in how Scryfall provides its bulk card data — card and pricing information will now update reliably again.

Version 1.8.2

Fixes

• Fixed foil cards not showing their shiny sheen effect in some views.
• Fixed an issue where removing a foil card from your collection via the card menu could accidentally apply the change to a non-foil copy instead, leaving the removal from taking effect correctly.

Version 1.8.1

New features

• Redesigned the stats view with cleaner, bordered tiles and inline charts for easier at-a-glance insights into your collection and games.

Version 1.8.0

New features

• Added an "Upgrade mode" for your owned decks. Turn it on to try out card swaps without changing your real deck list right away — add and remove cards freely, and your deck stays untouched until you're ready.
• While in Upgrade mode, deck stats and the mana curve preview show what the deck will look like after your planned swaps, making it easy to see the impact before committing.
• When you're happy with your changes, commit them all at once. This logs a single, clean history entry summarizing your swaps by card type and intent, along with a before/after curve comparison — instead of cluttering your changelog with many separate add/remove entries.
• You can toggle Upgrade mode off and on as needed — your staged changes are saved and waiting for you when you return.

Version 1.7.0

New features

• Added dynamic lists: create a list that's defined by a saved search rule instead of a fixed set of cards. It automatically stays up to date as your collection changes — for example, "all owned cards" or "all decks matching a filter."
  • You can scope a dynamic list to specific inventories/decks, or to all lists of a given type (so new lists you create later are automatically included).
  • Dynamic lists are view-only: you can browse and share the results, but you can't add/remove/edit individual cards in them, and they can't be picked as a destination when adding cards to a list.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where mana curve and deck stats could be calculated incorrectly for certain non-inventory lists.

Version 1.6.2

New features

• The deck stats page now shows a mana balance chart comparing lands to colored mana pips side by side, and a new polar chart for visualizing color identity.
• Signed-out visitors to Spellbook, Collection, and Game Tracking now see a preview of the feature with a sign-in button, instead of being redirected to the login page with no explanation.
• New decks with no cards now show a simplified, onboarding-friendly view focused on adding your first cards, with advanced tools (Stats, History, Compare, and more) tucked into a "More" menu until there's something to show.

Improvements

• The estimated deck price now shows secondary price details in a tooltip instead of cluttering the page, and the mana curve display is larger and easier to read.
• Game Tracking now explains directly why a Discord-linked account is required, instead of silently redirecting non-Discord users away.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the card detail popup could stay open on screen after navigating away, including when using the browser's back button.

Version 1.6.1

New features

• The navbar is now organized by access: Search, The Hub, Sets and Rules are available to everyone, while Spellbook, Collection and Game Tracking are grouped separately and prompt sign-in when needed.
• What's New has moved into The Hub for easier access, and Settings now lives next to your avatar instead of the main menu.
• Publicly shared decks, sets, and their authors' profiles are now easier to find via search engines, helping others discover your decks.
• The Search page and each Set page now have their own descriptive titles instead of a generic, repeated one.

Improvements

• Unknown pages now show a proper "not found" message instead of redirecting you to the login screen.

Fixes

• The Record badge on deck headers now shows your actual win/loss totals instead of repeating the total game count.
• Fixed an issue where decks converted from a Collection or Owned Deck list would show only the commander (or nothing at all) on the cards-to-buy page. Mainboard cards are no longer accidentally excluded.

Version 1.6.0

New features

• Added a new Community Hub, starting with a public deck browser. Discover decks shared by other players, search by deck or commander name, and filter by commander colour identity.
• Added a community articles feed to the Hub, pulling in the latest articles from sites like EDHREC and MTGGoldfish. Articles are sorted newest first and open directly on the publisher's site.

Improvements

• The articles feed keeps working even if one publisher's feed is down or broken — you'll just see the other sources instead of a broken page.
• List cards now show a matching icon and pinned background art (when set), for a more consistent look across the Hub.

Version 1.5.6

New features

• Quick add now shows a card preview (with both faces for double-sided cards), mana cost, and type line for every search result, plus one-click buttons to add straight to your deck, sideboard, or maybeboard. Use arrow keys to browse results, and Enter, Shift+Enter, or Alt+Enter to add to a specific zone without leaving the search box.

Fixes

• Card images now show a blurred low-res preview while loading instead of appearing blank, and the set page's card grid loads more smoothly.

Version 1.5.5

New features

• Added a way to support PlaneswalkerHub directly from the app via a new floating Ko-fi button.

Improvements

• Cleaned up the floating action buttons in the corner of the screen so they space themselves out neatly.

Version 1.5.4

New features

• Added a deck-optimization tool for theorycrafted decks: with one click, PlaneswalkerHub finds the cheapest available printing for every card in your deck (skipping cards with no listed price) and shows you a preview before applying anything. You can run it on your whole deck or just the cards you've selected, and it respects your preferred languages (English by default).
• Shared spellbook pages have been rebuilt to match the look of your own list view, complete with the art-crop header, stat tiles, mana curve chart, and Scryfall-style search and sorting — so people you share a list with get the same great browsing experience (editing and history tools stay private to you).

Version 1.5.3

New features

• Export your spellbook directly to Archidekt or Moxfield — a menu option copies your mainboard and commander in the correct format and opens the site's import page for you.
• Choose a section-header style when exporting your spellbook, making it easier to organize cards by category in the exported list.

Version 1.5.2

Version 1.5.1

Internal maintenance and improvements.

Version 1.5.0

New features

• The card drawer now shows related tokens and meld halves, complete with artwork, for cards that have them.
• Commander decks now get a Suggestions tool that recommends cards to add, based on similarity to your existing cards, gaps in your deck's game plan (like needing more ramp or removal), and overall card popularity. Tribal ("typal") decks get an extra pass of suggestions tailored to their creature type.

Fixes

• Fixed the mana curve incorrectly showing up on inventory lists.
• Profile pictures, card images, and set images now load directly from their source instead of a broken proxy — this also fixes uploading a new profile picture, which had stopped working.

Version 1.4.8

New features

• Every list now has a History page (/spellbook/:id/history) showing recent additions and removals, newest first. Bulk actions like a deck import or clearing a list show up as a single entry, and each list keeps its most recent 50 operations.

Improvements

• History tracking is now more reliable and better checked behind the scenes, so recording what changed in a list won't ever interfere with the add or remove action you actually performed.

Version 1.4.7

New features

• You can now copy, move, or remove selected cards right from the bulk selection bar. Copy and move preserve foil state, zone, and intent; removal asks for confirmation since it deletes every copy of your selection.
• Adding a single card now shows a "Change print" option right on the confirmation toast, letting you swap the print of the copy you just added without hunting for it.
• The app is now fully installable as a Progressive Web App, with proper icons, an iOS-friendly icon, app shortcuts, and updated screenshots for a smoother install experience.

Improvements

• Bulk foil and language updates, plus copy/move/remove actions, now only refresh the parts of your collection that actually changed, instead of reloading everything.
• Lists no longer flash empty while updating — your cards stay visible while changes are being saved in the background (except when switching between different lists).
• Changing a card's print no longer refreshes your entire collection; only the affected card and list update, and it now correctly updates just that one copy instead of every copy of the card in the list.

Version 1.4.6

New features

• Rebuilt the Rules page: browse by chapter, jump to a section directory, search keywords with matches highlighted, and page through results. Bare rule numbers now browse in document order.

Improvements

• Expanded the site footer with full navigation to every section of the app, plus required legal notices covering Fan Content Policy, trademarks, Scryfall data/image attribution, and a price estimate disclaimer.

Version 1.4.5

New features

• Redesigned Settings page with organized tabs for Profile, Display, and Collection preferences — everything is now in one place at /settings, accessible from your profile menu.

Version 1.4.4

New features

• Added a What's New page where you can catch up on the latest updates and release notes right inside the app.

Version 1.4.3

New features

• Spellbook lists and the share button now show whether a list is currently shared with others.

Improvements

• The buy page now only includes cards from your main deck, leaving out sideboard and maybeboard cards.

Fixes

• Fixed grouping for double-faced and split cards so cards like "Creature // Land" now correctly show up under both of their types instead of only one.
