Momo, Playful Pet rulings

  • Whatever you do, don't eat the delicious cards.

  • If an effect refers to a Food, it means any Food artifact, not just a Food artifact token. For example, you can sacrifice Tough Cookie (an Artifact Creature — Food Golem) to activate Bosco, Just a Bear's ability (an ability with "Sacrifice a Food" in its cost). You can't sacrifice a Food to pay multiple costs. For example, you can't sacrifice a Food token to activate its own ability and also to activate Bosco, Just a Bear's ability.

  • Some spells and abilities that create Food tokens may require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won't resolve. You won't create any Food tokens.

  • Food is an artifact type. Even though it appears on some creatures, it's never a creature type.

Momo, Playful Pet keyword rules

Scry Rule 701.18

To “scry N” means to look at the top N cards of your library, then put any number of them on the bottom of your library in any order and the rest on top of your library in any order.

If a player is instructed to scry 0, no scry event occurs. Abilities that trigger whenever a player scries won’t trigger.

If multiple players scry at once, each of those players looks at the top cards of their library at the same time. Those players decide in APNAP order (see rule ) where to put those cards, then those cards move at the same time.

An ability that triggers whenever a player scries triggers after the process described in rule is complete, even if some or all of those actions were impossible.

Flying Rule 702.9

Flying is an evasion ability.

A creature with flying can’t be blocked except by creatures with flying and/or reach. A creature with flying can block a creature with or without flying. (See rule , “Declare Blockers Step,” and rule , “Reach.”)

Multiple instances of flying on the same creature are redundant.

Vigilance Rule 702.20

Vigilance is a static ability that modifies the rules for the declare attackers step.

Attacking doesn’t cause creatures with vigilance to tap. (See rule , “Declare Attackers Step.”)

Multiple instances of vigilance on the same creature are redundant.
