Ob Nixilis, the Ascended rulings

2026-08-21
The last ability of Ob Nixilis will trigger if you gained any amount of life this turn, even if you also lost life during the same turn. For example, if you gained 2 life this turn but also lost 4 life, you will still create an Angel token.

Flying Rule 702.9

Flying is an evasion ability.

A creature with flying can’t be blocked except by creatures with flying and/or reach. A creature with flying can block a creature with or without flying. (See rule , “Declare Blockers Step,” and rule , “Reach.”)

Multiple instances of flying on the same creature are redundant.
